Capturing a Tween- the challenge and joy of a photographer

This lovely young lady is a photographer’s dream-  beautiful, yet innocent.  Full of childhood joy and leaning into sophistication.  Portraiture tries to meet so many goals, capturing different aspects of a child’s personality.  Families, of course, love the innocence and the joy.  Growing  up children love the newfound parts  of themselves and the grown-ups they are becoming.  As it happens, the youngster shown here is my lovely granddaughter.  Her parents loved the first portrait and the collage she created with just a little help from me of her jumping for joy.  They smiled weakly at the other images.  You can see why.  Hope you enjoy sharing with me the challenges and rewards of photographing an eleven  year old!FBkat1

She could definitely be a model, especially with her grandmother’s great picture taking skills. You have definitely captured a different(and emerging) side of her.
